Types of Entities
The OHADA (Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa)
framework provides a uniform legal structure for business entities across its
member states, which include 17 African countries. The principal business
structures under OHADA Business Law include:
A. Société à Responsabilité Limitée (SARL) – Limited Liability Company
B. Société Anonyme (SA)- Public Limited Company
C. Société en Nom Collectif (SNC)- General Partnership
D. Société en Commandite Simple (SCS)- Limited Partnership
E. Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS) – Simplified Joint Stock Company
